So, you had them build it (custom) with plywood exterior between wood studs and alumimum skin. Then you added 1.5" Dow Blue Board. Then you added interior plywood, correct? You put R19 in ceiling and 2.5" foam on floor. My internet super sucks and it takes me FOREVER to ho through your blog.

Didn't you say something about one of the insulations being bad for wired? Which one was it?

Okay, so I got it. You have exterior metal, then plywood, then 3" insulation (1.5*2), then 3/8 plywood, and then paneling.

Let me know what the electrical and insulation issue was. Thanks!!

Here is my base model, it's 7 x 18 , 2 ft longer then my first GA model.
I had added 6" higher, plywood exterior & screw less exterior, never adjust breaks.

I have 3" blue foam on the walls, 2.5" on the floor, R19 denim 4" in the ceiling
and 1.5" blue foam on the doors , no windows.

I see it. I want a v nose and need single axel with brakes. Did you have to request the never adjust brakes?

Yup they cost a little extra, but worth not having to crawl under & manually adjust breaks.
Or having no breaks at all .... Like many on the road I'm sure RoadInspector would agree

Hey MtnDon

Today finally a donkey delivered the 60 amp charge controller I ordered 11 days ago.
They were holding shipment as they did not have the 30 amp din rail breaker,
Which will come maybe in one week ??

Got work up the wazoo so I'm behind on the trailer.
Ordered 2 batt from The solar biz 2 days ago ....
But the guy in San Jose is having a hard time to get them out of his inventory ?
Maybe he is pissed I did not buy from him ?
Endless problems.

This week I dropped another easy dime on OTTCT
...always more $> $> :BE :CC :duh :O

Finally I have posted some pictures to my blog.
The new charge controller is the same pain in the butt installation as the outback flex Max 80 was.
In conclusion I can say that the Chinese junk is just as bad as the American junk.
Hopefully in the next week I can report back on the performance, if it's just as lousy has the American junk.
Time will tell, if it over heats at 50% usage.

Currently I am waiting for two batteries that have now disappeared into the twilight zone.
Maybe I'm being flagged by the Homeland department because I have purchased too many Trojans.

It is nice they have attached rope handles. Still 100 pounds is a hundred pounds. Or actually in this case it's 128 pounds; each.

:)

thesolar.biz is good folks! I've never felt like they were shining me on...

Damn your right , 128 lbs .... I was thinking only 100 lbs - maybe that was the 185 AH batts ?
I just saw the first one I looked at was J185E-AC - it's 50 AH smaller then the 185h
So I really got a deal by accident

http://www.civicsolar.com/product/trojan-j185e-ac-12v-175ah-flooded-battery

But to be honest they are bigger then my Surrettee 530's

Here is what I got
http://www.trojanbattery.com/products/j185h12v.aspx

So now I have 500 lbs totally just for batteries , another 500 lbs for all the other solar stuff.
For 2100 watts = 1,000 lbs for all the gear

Now you have a good formula for weight of a system
ie... 500 watt system = about 250 lbs.

Hey MtnDon

I just spent a very stressful 2 hours searching for the 5 trailer Keys & my 10 year license plate.
We found it YAHOO .... Otherwise I could not hit the road.

I have to have a million keys & cameras
Besides someone is always home
Because the crook next door Steals everything not WELDED DOWN !!!
Lucky he is spending some time in jail right now.
I guess every 10th bust is the lucky charm.
