Wooden Fenders--Gel Stain?

Postby Ira » Fri Apr 21, 2006 8:23 am

Well, I just went through my 4th stain test yesterday for my fenders:

Miniwax's Mahogany Gel-Stain.

I didn't even realize I was buying Gel-Stain at the time. What the heck is it? It was real clumpy in the can, so is that normal?

I really like the color so far, but until I do another coat tonight and match it against the rest of the TD, the jury is still out. The stuff really brought out the grain of the sandy ply, and of course, the color looks nothing at all like the sample on the can.

Which in this case is a GOOD thing.

I gotta get these things done and mounted already. This is driving me NUTS.
Here we go again!

Ira,
You'll just have to bite the bullet and sit at the table like the rest of us old folks

You have the same excuse we have. If you quit squatting this will probably go away, until the next time you have to do it. 8)

I know, I know.....had to give you grief.

Those must be some heavy fenders!
Are you going to beef up the springs on the trailer?

Just a thought.

Maybe some air bags or hydraulics would do the trick.
Dont they do stuff like that on "Pimp my ride"?

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.
