hey what kind of hitch you got on that jeep my jeep is rated for 3500 lbs. but the hitch that came on it is only rated 2000 lbs. post me a pic and I'll see if it is the same as they installed on my jeep

Here is mine. I am not sure which one it is but I will research and find out. Is there a particular marking I should look for?

If it is just those 4 bolts to the bumper, I cannot imagine it is 3500lbs rated.

If the hitch is not attached to the frame, I would be not only worried about trailer weight, but tongue weight, particularly with a single axle. You also may need to upgrade the rear shocks and/or install airbags. The short wheel base is going to make it interesting as well. The husband truck option is probably a good plan.

If that is an after market add on hitch and not a factory supplied hitch you may not have 3500 towing capacity. Wrangler can have a capacity of 3500#, but many are rated for less. Tow capacity is determined not only by the hitch but by other vehicle factors such as axle ratio and engine cooling systems. Consult the owners manual to see what gives. Larger tires w/o a gear change can upset the rating as well. And check out the rating on that hitch itself.

That is the frame, not the bumper. My Jeep is currently bumperless because we installed a heavy duty roof rack and in order to install it to the frame the bumper had to be removed. I have been too cheap to add an aftermarket bumper.

This is a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4D 4WD and the hitch is factory. My owner's manual says 3500 pounds. I am already planning to add the brakes mechanism so I will triple check the hitch. The tires are standard.

Here are photos of the RV roll up awning. It is 13 feet long. works like a charm. It cost $1300 installed there is a small roller attached to the top of the door so the door will not tear the awning when the awning is angled downward.

Love that awning, although I have thought about it, I haven't measured to see what we can do with ours. Your whole build is amazing- much more finished than I think ours will ever be!

Just keep working at it. I held off on the awning until last because of the cost. But the more i researched and debated other methods it always came back to the rollup. I need something that was compact, very easy to set up, set up quickly and was connected to the TT to keep the rain off the front door.

i considered the 10x10 popup tent canopies but they are a 2 person job to erect and there would be the gap between the awning and the tt.
