DH and I have been tent camping for many, many years. We are in that catch-22 situation that we don't go camping enough to justify the expense of buying a camper, but I think if we had a camper we would go out a lot more. It just takes so much time hauling all the gear out of the basement to pack into the cars, setting up camp, packing it all back into the cars, and then after the trip cleaning it all and carrying back to the basement. Also, sleeping on the ground isn't too bad because we have a good air mattress ... but convincing the knees/hips/back to cooperate to get up off the ground is getting more and more difficult.

I am in love with teardrop campers, in spite of never having seen one in person. I love the efficiency and retro elegance of the shape, and that they are light enough to be pulled with a car. Neither of us has any building skills, so we will have to buy -- hopefully in the next year or 2.
All of the wonderful photos and descriptions on this forum have helped me make a lot of decisions about what would work best for us. Thanks to everyone here for being such a good resource, and very friendly as well!
