I was wondering if you had any pictures of your bed set up? Maybe with it folded up, or the hinge areas etc.. Also the freestanding support. Is it attached to the bed or the floor? What do you do with it when the bed is folded up? Thanks!

Rainer,

The bed is mounted to the walls using "L" brackets I got from the hardware store. I reinforced it by welding a diagonal support. There are three per side, screwed to the steel studs in the wall.
3/4 inch plywood is bolted to the brackets. The first 10 inches of the bed is bolted to the brackets to accommodate the mattress. The rest of the bed is mounted using a continuous or "piano" hinge.
The pedestal in the middle was a temporary fix that seems to be becoming permanent. A hinged steel support for both sides would/will be better.

It took a long time, but I have finished the cabinet above the bed.
This was difficult because I wanted to store the spare tire in it. That's about 70 lbs of tire. The real challenge was the dynamic load that tire would have on the cabinet when going over a BIG bump. Anything less than STOUT, and the wheel's weight would tear the cabinet off the ceiling/walls.

The solution was framing the part of the cabinet holding the tire in steel. The steel supports go from the shelf up to two 1.5 inch steel "T" bars that span the roof and tie into the walls. VERY strong. I did "pull ups" from the finished steel framing and I weigh 240.

After that, I built a pine cabinet around the steel frame. On either side of the tire are storage spaces for bedding. In front of the tire there was room to build a shelf.... just deep enough to hold a cold beverage.

In addition, I fabricated a table for dining and what-not.

Not much left to do. The project is winding down. Time to CAMP.

Very nicely done! Thank you for posting the bed and tire storage details. That is the most unique spare storage that I have seen yet. Your rig is well thought out and beautifully finished. :applause:

Its come to the time where you put a bow on your build, call it done, and put it to bed.

I finally got around to finishing the two drawers under the kitchen counter top and added some badging. The SQUARESTREAM badges were made from a piece of 1/8 inch aluminum plate cut with a water jet. Then secured with 3m VHB tape.

The trailer started out 12 foot long, 7 foot wide, 7 foot tall, 1900 lb Trailer Showroom trailer. It now weighs 3100 lbs.
Specs
12 V, 120V
12V photo voltaic panel
2000 W Yamaha Inverter
microwave
air conditioning
12V LED lighting
12V fresh water pump
Sink/2burner galley
7 gallon fresh water, 5 gallon grey water
Port a potty
Ice Box

Ive enjoyed camping in it this summer and look forward to using it this winter / spring when I tire of the snow and need to get away.

Many thanks to all the contributors of this forum for ideas, inspiration and kind words.

I always loved the name square stream. But the badging you did is way over the top. Can my TT become square stream 2 ? :worship:

I am going to consider the your idea of a top mounted cabinet system in the back and add my AC unit there. I would fix the barn doors so that I could safety leave one of them open to provide air circulation for the back of the AC unit. Then the other parts of it become great storage for other items.

Great work.
