Newbie fron N. Georgia

Postby Kullas » Sat Nov 09, 2013 8:38 pm

Hello, I have been lurking for sometime now. I decided to join and now to make my first post. And better yet i am ready to start my build. I seen a teardrop several years ago and i liked it alot. I started looking around and could not find one for under 3k but thanks to this site i have everything i need to build my own. My wife gave me the go ahead on the build :D Today i was at the scrap yard and there set a trailer calling my name. It was at one time a camper 7' x14'. with a little cutting and welding it would wind up a 4 1/2' x 9 with a 4' tongue. i was looking through the plans and found a mini-hopper http://www.angib.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/teardrop/tear39.htm a non traditional style but i think i like it. So now starts the build. Thanks for the great site with loads of info :applause:

Welcome to the forum, I am glad you got the "go ahead". I hear that is the most important to get. I live near the state line off I20. There are several people here on this site as well as with the tearjerkers. I am arranging a day to take my teardrop to the Harbor Freight in Douglasville. If you are near to there perhaps we can meet. I will be posting it in the Foamie section on the thrifty thread. Good luck on your build. :pictures: are always good!!!

What part of n Georgia are you in? I am in Chickamauga and recently finished mine. We've been out in it a couple weekends now.

Good luck on your build.

We are in Ellijay. This is going to be a winter build, i hope. We are wanting to take it out this spring. I started on the trailer yesterday. i got the tongue cut out and the trailer cut to size just got to get the axle back in and the tongue welded back in and it will be ready for a coat of paint. couple hours worth of work. i got some pics just to get the wife to get them off the camera.
