My 5.5 x 10 er 12

Postby JeremiahO » Sun Oct 20, 2013 7:05 am

I started this build about a year ago and began documenting it over on tearjerkers but since I read this board much more and have gained so many of the ideas thus far I wanted to start a thread here. Yesterday was the first day in over six months that I've been able to work on it since moving into our new house. The frame is as stated 64" x 12'. The front 24" will be a flat "deck" to hold the generator or possibly a scooter or something. The cabin will then be 10' long shaped from big woody teardrops' template. There's a 30 gal water tank just behind the axle that clears the ground by 8". Hopefully I'll get it painted this week and can begin the fun part soon! :D

I was able to paint the frame this weekend, and hope to wire the trailer lights today.

Been working as much as money will allow on the camper lately. I really want it finished by mid February so we can go to Florida speed weeks. However I was just informed by my boss (wife) that it needed to be put on hold till Christmas is bought. Grr

Looking great so far.

Just a thought . Make sure you seal that front area and the front of your TD shell well.

Having a continuous floor in front of the shell is a good way for water to Wick into the camper and rot things out. That is a very turbulent area for wind and road mist off wet roads.

Keep us posted when you get back at it.

Hey y'all lets see if this will load:

Looked like it finally worked. I can't seem to get the correct size down. Their either too big and won't load or too small and grainy.

Very nice materials- looks great. I put my carry deck on the back of my build. Have you weighted it yet?
I just now measured mine. It was a little bigger than than I planned-- 69" wide x 130.5" long- almost 11ft. I wouldn't want it any smaller. You will be glad you have the extra room- inside and out.
