Ok so plan B was to take my framing down and start over. This time I made the shelf for the front and put a cross beam up and cut the front frame to fit under it. Then I glued some parts together and temp clamped others. Seams it worked better this way, easier to keep everything straight. Pics coming after a good garage cleaning.

Back to working day shift now! Now I can get home early and make some noise without neighbors complaints. I glued and screwed the bottom half of the front. Here are some pics with and without my tongue box.




And this thing is now stuck in the garage taking up space. Its a play kitchen I made for the kids but they dont play with it any more. Its similar to a tear galley but it started as an entertainment center.

Wire came in the mail today! 250ft not much more than the 100ft roll so why not? Too much wire, not possible.

Cleaning out some old junk out of the back of the garage so I pulled the tear out of the way, good time for a full picture.

Thanks fellas! I got the top half of the bowed front framed out now, and started to skin the inner side until I ran out of screws. Also built a lil jig form to aid in bending the 1/4" sheets to the 17" radias. One side is in but not screwed in and the other is still in the jig, that one should be easy to attach.

Randy, I dont know if you've tried it yet when bending the plywood but I used boiling water (about 2 gallon) and added a cap of amonia to it. I used HF straps to pull it around in a loop and I kept bening it overthe course of a day. After I went well beyond my need curvature, I let it dry for 3 days. I went right in... BTW, I'm using a 19" radius in the nose. V/R, Brad

Well, that kind of what I did, just without boiling the water. Used the ratchet straps around the jig with a scrap piece clamped to the end so the straps didnt warp the ends. I should have taken a pic before taking it out today. I have a couple more to do though.

I decided to not let my 4 day weekend go to waste so I got some work done today. The roof has been on my mind so I framed it up some.

While at it I tried the skylight out for size.

And could not resist the temptation of wiring it up and seeing how it was going to work.

Works pretty well if I say so myself. I even took a magazine in there, enough light to read with. It is hard to show how much light is there through a picture, with or without the flash.

It wont be hard to find this thing in a dark camp ground.

Thanks Kc, the motivation comes in spurts. Seeing how well the light worked out keeps me wanting to get more done.

You are going to piss of a lot of squirrels trying to sleep in the trees with that light. They will be bombing your camper with nuts trying to turn it off.

Nice build. I am planning one very similar, but slightly different. Think we are going 5 high, and going with a NT frame (modified).

I like the Al frame. That really is a weight saver. You put a lot of work into just that part of the project. Definitely a different take on the whole frame aspect of it. i like it.
