my first teardrop!

Postby Bob Haven » Sat Nov 30, 2013 10:26 pm

Greetings, everyone!
After a long time of admiring teardrops, my girlfriend and I recently found a homemade one we could afford about 4 hours from us and we bought it. From what we can tell, we are the second owners of a very well constructed teardrop. (it says Lil Woody on the side- I assume that's a plan one can buy to build from?)
Anyway, we can't wait to dive in and make it our own. We were so happy to find this forum- we have a million questions, so bear with us! (as soon as I figure out how to attach photos, I'll do so!)
Take care,
Bobby and Nancy

Welcome to the forums.

Lil woody might just be the name the people call their camper. Most Teardroppers name there camper and other design them to have a themes. If you Google Image Lil woody you see small wooden boats, a barbecue place burger, and my little camper Lil Wood. ( My current avatar ) Mine was built as a father / son summer project, but hardly got used. I was lucky enough to buy it used and have enjoyed it a lot.

I hope you enjoy you need camper, and can make it your own.

Best way to post picture is to use a site like flickr, photobucket. they will provide you a link that can be pasted into your post.

Enjoy

Hi, welcome to the forum. As far as I know there are no Little Woody plans for sale. By the way, I have a home-built Little Woody, but probably isn't related to your little gem, as a matter of fact, I am sure of it, since it is a one-off design. Enjoy your new find, get involved with our many gatherings, and you gotta tell us from where you hail.

Sorry I have been lax in replying to this post- work always has a way of getting in the way of the fun stuff!
First of all, Nancy and I live in Brunswick, Georgia- it's on the coast, a little less than an hour from Florida. From what I can tell from the previous owner, our camper was also a father-son project that never got used. We have many ideas on how we want to customize/make it our own, and I quickly realized how valuable this forum is going to be while we take on this journey.
I can see how these little campers can become an obsession- I catch myself thinking of modifications all day. I can't wait for weekends!
Nancy and I look forward to the challenges ahead, and to being part of this awesome community.
thanks-
Bobby
