not happy with the sharp corners on the front seating area. I decided to bring the curves inside.

Thanks. I have also decided to add 2 more columns of cabinets over the wheel wells. and instead of having a big drawer to hold the galley. I am going to use the column on the curb side to house the stove and sink. This plan will keep me from weakening the lower wall with the previous galley plan.

That's a great build you have going there, Slug. I love all the bent wood.

Keep going. I'll be watching.
I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

it's been a busy week. most of the framing is done. and I wrapped the front benches in aluminum flashing.

the aluminum flashing scores easy and snaps off. also over the curb side wheel. you can see where the stove will go. I believe I am going to have the stove fold out of the galley. now there is the sink to think about.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

Great project, especially like how you de-rusted the inside of the frame! Looking forward to seeing your continued progress!

more progress. I have the interior walls skinned. I need to finish the tight bends at the front of the seating/bunk area. the 1/8" oak ply will be stained to match the oak flooring I have on the front and rear walls. 115614115612

the horizontal piece of oak on the curb side wall is where the top bunk will fold down and rest on. I installed it to help pull the inner skin tighter to the framing. the vertical board is there temporary just to hold the skin. I am trying to keep the nail and screw holes to a Minimum since I am staining. after debating with my wife about the interior look. she told me she wanted the interior stained. so I went and spent $100 on 3 sheets of 1/8 oak ply. when I installed and showed her. she said she wanted it painted. I had to tell her she is nuts if she thinks I am going to paint the pricey oak ply. so after compromising. I am going to end up painting the ceiling. and will save me some $$ by spending $14 a sheet for lauan vs. $30 for the oak plywood.

and the rear walls in the boat tail section have been skinned.

I told my wife if she wanted to have a say in the decor, then she needed to help with the build; and since TPCE is my build, and she has no interest in helping with the grunt work, I have free reign over the design. So far she is very happy with what I have done. :D

I'm not sure what I am looking at re: your post, but it looks fine and you sound like you have it under control, so all is good.

we had a house fire 2 years ago. I told her the same on the house build. So, I feel like she can have a little say so on this one....... but, not much. I will consider all her suggestions. give them some thought, and if they are good ideas, they will be executed.

I was browsing for camp type water heaters. and ran across this Camp Chef portable shower.

http://www.amazon.com/Camp-Chef-Triton-Water-Heater/dp/B00A0M6HDM/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_2
does anyone have any experience with this product?

I am also kinds stumped on where to put the sink for the side galley.

I think I just had a break through. I have the stove mounted on hinges inside the vertical galley. how about having a fold out counter top with the stove and sink?? kinda like the old hidden Ironing boards or a murphy bed.

After a super cold week. and spending 2 days this weekend replacing the clutch in my nephews truck. I did manage to get one of the rear benches put in and one wall stained. Pics to come.
