Good Holiday season ... “ Always lots of good people trying to help each other! “ ...

Yup, can't argue with that!
Slowly working up to our family Xmas dinner here at the house. A few less people planned for this year, only 13, so I am mixing things up and am finally going to do a standing rib roast instead of turkey. Changing up the menu some: 7 rib roast, horseradish and herb crust with horseradish sauce; my seriously sharp (Cabot) macaroni and cheese (Betty Crocker's old recipe, none of that cheese soup in a can cra...p; I will add crispy bacon to about 2/3rds...Yvette likes her's w/o); Yvette made pre stuffed potatoes today to be twice baked; cranberry relish (whole fresh cranberry's, a whole orange and some sugar processed to a minced texture... yum... very popular);
Graber olives; green beans al dente with butter toasted almonds; some fresh snow flake rolls (very soft sorta sweet, sorta sour dinner rolls); and herb butter. Everyone asks, "what can I bring?", and the answer is always, "dessert", so there will be lots of those (hopefully mom will bring pecan pie... the best ever, hint, hint... really, I don't even need to ask any more, she's so good). Yvette has made rum balls, peanut butter balls with chocolate chips, spritz cookies, and her infamous oatmeal cookies with raisins and butterscotch chips, yum.
Note that mom usually does a rib roast on Xmas eve (and will do same this year for a big family get together), so this is a sort of throw down; rib roast two nights in a row! How could that be a bad thing?
