Hopefully this time on Saturday I will be busy crawling all over my new Micro-lite cargo-lite Xtreme with my normal OCD way of investigating anything I buy. But I digress here is my introduction (sorry if it is long).
I have been a camper and motorcycle rider since I was 14 and I have not seen that birthday in many many years... My normal however all these years is camping from a motorcycle and going to the bush. Well 28 years ago I married the the finest woman on earth. She is still to this day my best friend and never fails to make me smile. Her eyes after all of these years still makes me melt. We together have raised 3 great boys but the last one graduates high school this year. She has been the corner stone of our family and now it is time for us to have more time together. A chance for her to see those things I have seen but not from the back of a motorcycle (she does not ride).
When the kids were young she did the right thing and camped in a tent, was cold, hot, wet as needed as her 4 men played in the woods. When they got older we stopped because she would say, I dont want to sleep on the ground with the snakes. As a compromise I showed her this smaller trailer and my plans where we would have most of the comforts of home (no snakes) but I still could bring a bike to satisfy my wild side. I hopefully will show her things she has not seen and cannot be seen from a plane and a hotel.
My hope is that we will go to mexico to see the sunset in Baja (done that) or camp in the keys to watch the sunrise (done that), to sleep by a mountain stream and listen to it rush over the rocks (done that), or go to NB Canada and walk from the campground to a quaint place in ST. Martins on the beach for the best lobster you can put in your mouth at any meal (done that). I want to share with her my old memories from riding (she lets me take a big trip every two years on the bike).
I want our us future years to be spent together, sitting under an awning, holding hands and laughing about the good times we have had in the last 28 years and how much fun we will have in the next 28.
While that may seem sappy that is my story and I am sticking too it...
