Newbie from KY!

Postby bstewart » Sat Jan 04, 2014 11:34 pm

I am a newbie that is a single female and fell in love with the teardrop last year. I have been building my woody since last spring. (I will upload pictures soon) it will be road worthy this spring. I'm wanting to attend one of the get togethers, but want to make sure I won't feel out of place coming solo with just my dog.I am looking forward to seeing :) other masterpieces! :) :)

Welcome, ms Stewart? I can assure you that you will be welcome to any of the get togethers, campouts. I am a widow and I was warmly welcomed when I went up to the big Crossroads camp out in IN. I look forward to meeting you this summer. I also look forward to seeing your "woody" build pictures in the build thread. Please take lots of pictures and tell us all about your build.

You are certainly welcome to all Kentucky gatherings. Check out the Bluegrass Section on www.tearjerkers.net. We camp as the Three Wide Men. Two of the three are single and we so far have been welcome everywhere.

Welcome to the group. I am part of the Illinois Tear Jerker group. I camp alone with my dog. My wife won't camp anymore. We have several singles that camp, and you are welcome at any gathering in any state. It is a fun way to travel. Many people plan their trips around a gathering or two on the way to wherever. Have fun finishing your Teardrop.

I'm planning a trip right now to Kentucky and Tennessee next summer. If there is a gathering near where we are going we will join in.

Thanks. I will look into the Bluegrass section. I'm planning on going to the May meeting in IN. That will be my 1st outing in my trailer. Wish me luck. Beth

Welcome Beth, I certainly did not mean any disrespect. I am looking forward to meeting you also. I doubt I will make it to any camp outs until June I have too many other regular things I will have to be spending money on. I have a tree I have to pay to get cut down and I need some roof work done. Money only goes so far. I am still working on my TD and have lots of things to be done so..............I am not worried about this year because next year I want to go on my Big Out West trip. I will be saving every penny I can.

Beth you have a great tearjerker chapter there in the Commonwealth. They are fun folks to camp with.

I am glad to hear you are gonna jump the state line and try and join us Hoosiers in May. I am an old grey grandpa who is single also. I would be happy to squire you about and introduce you to the group. You know you would be safe with an old man like me right?

P.S. I'm bringing the kids too...........Image

Welcome, another from the Clan!

Your surname is spelt the "correct way" I'm told that Clan Stuart were cattle thieves and Stewarts were royalty; or was it the other way around.. Ancient history.
I'm apparently from the Stewarts of Appen, from what I've read they were a ruthless bunch, mind you, at the time most of the clans were.

This a great site and there is loads of support!
