Ice storm hits; more coming!

Over 9" here in Indy so far. Shoveled the sidewalk from the driveway to the house 3 times with about 3" each time. The neighbor used my snowblower on my driveway and his. Then the power went out 3.5 hrs ago. The snow is so wet and heavy it's breaking limbs onto the power lines. The last time I was outside, the only sound was limbs falling, transformers blowing and the fuses on the power poles blowing. Sitting in front of the fireplace I haven't used for years. The dog is laying on the sofa inside the down comforter. It's going to be a long night. It's supposed to get down into the negative teens with a high of negative 10 tomorrow.

It sounds like you have it worse than us. Of course our ice storm last weekend did a lot of cleaning up for us...

I tried to take a photo, but it's not easy in the dark. With the flash you don't see much, and without flash you still don't see much...

Oh yeah. If worse comes to worse, the dog and I will get in the Silver Shadow in the garage, crack the vent and a window, get under the sleeping bags and down comforter and sleep well !! It's a smaller place to heat with my body heat than than the house! Then the generator tomorrow, if the power still is off.

I am not sure if everyone here as their power back yet from that last ice storm. It sounds like for most of us.. "raining" ice will be short lived… we are supposed to warm and receive rain later tomorrow. So maybe we can get ride of the ice that has been stuck to everything.

I Do feel for you guys, and don't want you to think I am not sympathetic to your situation (and I am not rubbing it in)> But Sandi and I went for a nice Sunny Sunday afternoon drive down to the USA today for a nice Mexican lunch, some beers at the Pub I get my ebay stuff sent to, and a little Football.

I 'll be going to the Little Guy Gathering in early August in Idaho and the next week to the other Little Guy gathering in Ohio.
