Side room/tent?

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Since I started this thread I figure an update is in order. We ended up buying a used CampInn side tent from a fellow member. Works great for changing clothes and storing our shoes and bags for a long weekend. Perfect size for our lab to sleep in too. We also picked up a Napier Sportz SUV tent on eBay for the galley area. This came highly recommended by other members here. The quality is top notch. Works great for a place to get out of the weather - a living room of sorts. We picked up both tents for under $300 by shopping around.

Nope! That's not a tent. That $30 item is the footprint to go under the tent. Read the description.

"The seven-by-six-foot (W x D) Sportz Footprint is a custom-sized footprint designed to fit inside the Sportz SUV 83000 Tent,...

The Sportz SUV 83000 Tent is not listed on Amazon but the next model down the SUV 82000 is $285.50.

I almost made that mistake a couple times, thinking it was the whole tent and it wasn't. Really have to read the details sometimes.

I have been eyeballing these tents. They come in different sizes. A little pricey, but a viable option.

it´s Coleman Coastline 8 deluxe - it´s then 8 man tent and i cut it half, OK not in half but more like 1/3 and 2/3
i think that every tunnel type tent what is right dimensions (like trailer sideprofile) can use like this.

i got then with smaller tent part like room for toilet or bikes or ...
and with biger tent half i got "living room" and 4 sleeping places
i can use each part in both sides and one at a time or combined with sunsail - lot of options

price ? i dont know is it on sale in USA but it is in europe most shops i can find are GB

It looks like that Coleman Coastline 8 Deluxe tent is available only in Europe, not in the US. But that sure is a nice setup.

my tear is 1,5m it is ~5ft wide
full tent lenght is 6,7m its then ~22ft long

then all together is 8,2m ~27ft

tent is 2,9m wide and teardrop is 3m long ~10ft

that means i take 3x8,2=24,6m2 or 10x27=270 sqft land only under my set
if i open galley and need some space around that then ....

yeah that is lot of room - more that most our (europe) RV-s
