Looking for a stove

Postby 48Rob » Sun Jan 05, 2014 9:27 am

I'm looking for a stove, new or old, in a front to back configuration.
Most stoves (stovetops) have the burners in a side by side configuration.
I have a narrow, but deep space where I'd like to place a stovetop.
Does anyone know of a stove; propane, that looks something like this?
Thanks,

Rob

I can't give you a specific make & Model but there are a lot of commercial units made like that.

And there are Commercial Propane (as opposed to natural gas) units made.

Someone, somewhere has something you want.

The problem is knowing what they call it so you can look for it.

My suggestion is to look for something like a commercial French Fry cooker. There about 12-14" wide. This is a standard width on several cooking units.

Find a manufacturers name, and from there search to see if they have what you want.

But more important, find out what they call it.

Then you can look at others for one at a decent price.

Happy Trails

A lot of times if you need something just a little different then standard RV stuff, check marine stuff, their configurations are usually a little diferent then RV, but their needs are usually pretty close to ours.
Their prices tend to be higher, but the Marine crowd won't stand for the crap that the rv suppliers sell and the marine grade quality tends to be somewhat better.
Don't know if the Chinese have taken over that market as of yet, probably once they have 100% taken over the RV, their probably at abut 70% now, they will eat the marine industry also.
One cool area to check out is marine grade lighting, a lot of brass, two wire configured, way better then the plastic crap in rv's, and they look nice also. something the rv industry has forgot about....appearance combined with function.
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Len,

Thanks for the tips!

MG.

Thank you for the tips!

I have bought marine parts in the past, the quality is usually very good.
You get what you pay for with RV stuff...

What about a side-to-side with the knobs on the top? Could it just be turned sideways?

Hi Judy,

Yes, it could be, but it would be more challenging to turn the rear burner on/off without getting burned.

I have in mind to have a high walled cubby with the stove inserted and just a couple inches to spare.
The sides will be fire/heat proof.
May have to use bail handle pans, instead of handles...but the space savings will be worth it.
