Thoughts on Prince William Forest RV Park?

Postby mickeydsc71 » Wed Jan 08, 2014 4:08 pm

Looking at Prince William Forest RV Park (formerly Travel Trailer Village) up near Quantico, VA, and didn't see any past posts about this place. Has anyone camped there before and have some thoughts to share about the place?

Thanks for your input!

It is a decent campground when we stayed there had almost the whole back row to our selves most of the time. Biggest down side is just that the downside. Over the width of our pop-up camper we had to jack one side up almost a foot to level the trailer. But I would stay there again but only if I'm visiting someone in Quantico, VA which my brother is stationed there currently.

Mike:

Lived across the street from the park for 15 years. Mountain biked the trails almost everyday . Beautiful park. Are you interested in staying at the trailer park(full facilities) off of Route 234 or inside the National Forest? Primitive sites with nice bathhouses.

If you plan on visiting Wash DC, there is a nice commuter railway station not far from the park.

Hi Larry,

Yes, we're looking to stay in the RV park. Interesting trivia and history about the forest! I'll have to ask my uncle whose lived there and works for DHS if he's familiar with the park's past. We're having a family reunion in Stafford and was looking for sites for mine and my sister's family to camp. What are your thoughts about the RV Park?

The rv park is (at least was, have not lived in Va for over 7 years) nicely maintained. Sites are close. The rv park is near one of the fire trails that leads into the park. Great for biking or hiking .I think you will be pleased with the rv park.

Fredericksburg Va, south of Stafford, has a very nice KOA if you want more amenities.
