The "Monarch" --> The newest off-road adventure trailer

I saw this over at the expedition Portal, he's got some interesting ideas I haven't seen before. Check out the swing around galley on the tongue:

The link to troubadourtrailers works, it's the expeditionportal ones that seem to require a login. (nothing shows on my browser but the word "image" 5 times, then the link to troubadourtrailers) If I click the "quote" button I see the url to "expedition", but entering that brings me to a page that wants me to login.

The troubadour has some interesting features - I dig the kitchen as well. But I honestly don't get the whole roof-top tent thing. If I wanted to sleep in a tent, I would never have built a camper in the first place!

Okay I tweaked the image links, hopefully that fixes it. I think the tent would nice if you had kids.

I could see it all, Bruce. Thanks.
Yes, it would be a nice unit for a small family.
However, the cost is just under $10,000...base price.

Still, builder/designers, here, could adopt some of those ideas!

we all limit our camping to what our campers can take, EP members won't be limited by anything except what their TV of choice can't take. Expedition trailers are the way to make up for the one big shortcoming of a jeep, lack of cargo space. Roof top tents are the only thing that will make it down an extreme jeep track, either on the Jeep roof, or on the ET roof (both better than a tent on the ground). A few off roaders have made hard side trailers that can take almost any trail, but even then they take some abuse and are limited to 4X8' builds to fit in the width and approach/departure angles of a Jeep. The money involved in a trail rated trailer is crazy compared to what most of us spend on an average build.

I really like the idea of the tongue box on a hinge and also the shower curtain rail that plugs into the roof. I may adapt that on my TD for a changing "room"

The swing around kitchen is pretty clever. I like the roof top tents, they are up off the ground which is the one thing I do not like about tents.
