Good day and a few pics for you.

Did a highly accurate and detailed mock up for the galley.
115798

Lags, Bolts and Nylocks and the frames are Gorilla Glued to each other as well.
Solid as a rock.
115801

Trailer frame is done. Ready for a floor!
115802

Before you ask, the sub-frame is for under bed storage and the long open tunnel is for tent pole storage. It will have a door on the tail gate.

Then the new Tuned Headers & Pro stock exhaust came in for the Gazelle and I got sidetracked.
Back to it tomorrow.

Chiming in here.... I'm the aforementioned friend, helping Monkeyboy with the build... it's in my back yard. He's wintering in the Hamptons, so to speak.

I'm also somewhat the designer on the project, it's kinda like my day job - so I'm doing the whole thing in Solidworks, and man, am I jonesing for one of those CNC router tables like in the other threads.

When the Teardrop was mentioned, I started doodling, and came up with this; The thought was that the trim would be cut from a single thickish sheet, and provide some structure to allow a thinner inner skin. I'd kind of tossed this one off when I heard monkey howls - I'd never though of Cthulhu.

Image

The problem was that when I put the HF trailer wheels and fenders on it, the curves in the trim didn't work, and the axle height was all wrong. Plus, I never got the door right, and I'd like to find a bit more volume. I've learned a lot on this site, and am incorporating as many of your suggestions as I can in this design, but I'm also cheating in a few places. I'll post more when it gets finalized, but here's a teaser:

Mine's gonna be a Woody.

Floor is in.

Next time the pole storage goes in the middle but this will work out OK.

Lofted and cut out the side template today. A bit more work on that and it'll be time to start really cutting wood!

This is an awesome idea. I will be subscribing to this thread...and stealing some ideas when I get around to my build.

Good day today.
Trim panels are cut and stained.
All the side wall panels are cut and stained.
Side frame walls are cut and sanded.
Inner skin walls got laminated to the frames and are sitting under stacks of batteries to cure overnight.
Panels everywhere!

Here's a nice shot of the way the extra bustle joins onto the wall. The inner frame piece sleeves in an inch.
The piece itself is cut from the corner of the wall plywood. One wall is all from one piece.

116033

The window is a candy dish on the inside and a cracked ice lens on the outside.

116034

Should cast a nice Rosy glow inside.

116036

Sneak Peek at the wall.

116037

Got lucky on the door seal and hinge clearance.

116039

2 walls done! Time to measure and mount the cleats and have a tear raising!

The windows are cool, BUT, unless you are planing on some form of ventilation the inside will be HOT. We have two large windows that open and they are not too big.

No its not too late. Cut it apart and add a foot in the middle.
If you have tested it, and reallllyy need the space do it now. :D

Wall looks pretty but you need to consider the venting like

Galley is almost done. Everything is built to size.

Wanted a Nantucket/ Nautical feel so I made rails from a dowel that look like belaying pins.
