Hello from the Pacific Northwest

Postby PaulfromWA » Wed Jan 22, 2014 9:06 pm

Hello,

My name is Paul, I live south of Olympia, WA. I joined the site to get some insight on building a teardrop. I work for the state as an analyst, am a disabled veteran and enjoy volunteering with several veteran and animal rehab/rescue charities. Single and empty nester!

Currently in the design and saving phase of both a motorcycle trike and a teardrop. You all have some awesome trailers posted on here. I guess the easiest way to tell you what I want to build is to list my wants:

1) Definitely retro, I love the large fendered and whitewall types
2) Low profile, being pulled behind a trike so weight is a concern
3) I would like to have a battery tray and ability to use a KOA campground type setup.
4) Wood framed aluminum skinned
5) IMPORTANT - trailer brakes my trike will be built using the rear end of a Corvair and will be upgraded to a disc brake setup but I still would like more stopping power.
6) Galley - Gas Stove, ice cooler (the nice kind that keeps for days), sink

I am building this with several trips in mind but my goal is to make the 2016 Run for the Wall, a journey from Ontario, CA to Washington D.C.

Thanks Redneck Teepee and Pchast, I am in the design phase right now which translates into, "I don't have any money right now"..lol. I just moved to Centralia,WA and the move was expensive. Once I get settled I will start to look for a donor trailer and a vair to use for the trike.
