while I agree with why is New Hampshire so expensive, the why is Mass so smart stumps me... I grew up there and escaped as soon as I had to support a house on my own.

Yup, Minnesota is cold a good part of the year but come summer time we can hit heat and humidity that equals the south. Our temps can swing over 100 degrees in 6 months.

Hmmm. I don't think of us as so liberal. I think of us as overpopulated. 70% of the current population was not born in our fair state. The liberal part is offset by the conservative east of the mountains way of thinking so I consider our state as being sort of in the middle--just right.

Oregon is good. They were smart and put up a sign at the California border inviting people to visit, but not to stay. So, I guess they drove through Oregon and settled in Warshington. Sometimes I think about moving to Oregon, but they have income tax, but no sales tax. I lived in Oregon for a few years. It was good but my job was not.

Oregon doesn't charge for showers in their state park campgrounds. My fair state does.

Nevada is so empty because most of the land is worthless for any use. Few people know this, but Nevada is the 7th largest state, and 85% of the acreage is owned by one government entity or another.

Not really. Kansas is not flat, it is tilted. Kanorado, KS, is 4216 feet above sea level. Kansas City, KS, is only 816 feet above sea level. Time to put that old wives tale to rest.

But I lie. Once you get to Wichita and north Kansas flattens out considerably. It only drops about 400 feet in the eastern part of the state. By the time people heading west get to the climb they're mesmerized by the blandness.
