Kiwi was a nice touch.

I like my mushrooms that way, too. Browned but still a little firm, not wet and soggy.

Nice job. You are worthy once again.

Dang Eric. I really like the look of the last one! While in the attic last week digging out my seed starting stuff I ran across my BIG box of parts lanterns. I'm looking for a project to get my mind off of how cold I am. I am SO ready for spring!

Question for everybody, are the mantles different for a propane lantern inside a trailer as opposed to a white gas lantern mantle?

What is the answer??

Thanks guys,

Dave

Mantles all work on the same principle. There are different sizes according to candle power. ( cp ) There are some that are preformed and held in a frame of some sort. Ala Aladdin. I have some very small mantles that are preformed and burned in attached to a ceramic ring. I can't say if I have ever seen a propane light like you are talking about but if it take a tie on mantle and you do not know what size I would try a 21a first and see if it is over driven or under driven. I can't see how you would hurt anything as long as you keep an eye on them. Leave shade off.

Randy, can you explain "over driven or under driven"?

You talking about brightness, or burn quality, or... ?

Over driven you will get flames outside of the mantle. Under driven will look like a very plugged up generator. Dim

Thank you. I'm thinking dim like on shut down as the fuel runs out and the glow/fireball moves inside the mantle rather than at the mesh surface of the mantle?

I'm not sure that I have ever seen a lantern running with a plugged up generator.

I have run Coleman Mantles for a 200A on a propane Humphries lamp in my Scotty and they worked fine..
