Wanted a Nantucket/ Nautical feel so I made rails from a dowel that look like belaying pins.

Are you naming her (your "nautical" themed tribute trailer) after the Alert, or the lost Emma? you've built this pretty quickly; I had expected it to take * "vigintillions of years"! We're *" ravening with delight" for the finish, so to speak. *(sly references)

Downsizing sucks! But the project progresses.

2 Layers of 3/4" insulation foam.
116563

That means the ceiling is up.
116609

Starting on the inner details.
116608

20' RGB LED remote control lighting power supply stashed here.
116610

Runs up one side, through the galley as up-lighting then back down the other inside roof line.
116611

And a skin on one side! It's starting to look like a trailer

Update!

Laminated the roof skins

116782

Got my 9" roof vent ready to go.

116783

Modifying an old trunk for the battery box. You can see the cut up the center here. I'll cover that with a leather strap.

116785

Fully skinned and ready for a clean up, touch up and waterproofing!

Here's a hint of what she'll look like behind my car.

116915

Made a lower tailgate out of foam with a wood frame. The lights all mount in it and it hinges down to open access to the pole storage.

116916

Hatch built and skinned.

116917

Starting the rear trim.

116918

Coming out nicely.

Had a great day!

Got the rocker trim on and stained. Carved the lines in with a dremel and a sanding wheel.

116965

Both sides now have the beautiful Teardrop shape.

116966

I hand set over 300 Nail heads! My thumbs are killing me.

116967

And for the finale I pulled it inside and sprayed the first coat of full Polyurethane.

I was thinking paint the wheels brown or black, or even faux wood grain!

Wow that is amazing!!! Great work!!
Someday, we will learn to take living in stride. Sometime, we will learn to pay less attention to the imagined and stop fussing about things we had nothing to do with in the past - and cannot change significantly in the future. Very soon, we will sit together in the sun a whole day and just be happy that we can sit together in the sun all day and just be happy.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
You do learn a lot from hands on construction.

If I keep this one I want to upgrade the axle/ tires to 14" and put nice curved fenders on it.
I may just sell it as-is. There have been 2 offers that came close already!

Hard to see but here's some interior shots.
