New Calif. guy waiting for his Teardrop

I've spent some time investigating teardrops to buy. I don't have the talent, time, or tools to build my own. After considering what I could afford and what I thought I needed, I settled on the Cozy Cruiser. I put my order in and now I have to wait until some time in June. Of course I am now second guessing my decision.

I work in a school so I have the luxury of a long summer. My first trip will be to Colorado to visit family and then up to Glacier.

What do you think of the Cozy Cruiser?

Welcome Dack! What part of California are you in? I can't speak for the Cozy Crusier because I've never looked at or seen one to inspect. But I'm sure if you did your homework you made a competent decision to the best of the info provided to you. I would not worry about it and just enjoy it! Keep us posted and again welcome aboard.

Hey Dack, I'm in the same boat as you, I'm waiting for my Cozy Cruiser, its supposed to be ready about the middle of May, so I totaly get how you feel. I also did lots of reseach, and I have seen lots of TDs on line and also about 12-15 in person, and its hard to know for sure what's the best choice. When I saw the Campinn up close, I felt like it was the cream of the crop, at least for the factory built TDs, but that was more than We wanted to spend, so we looked for something within a reasonable distance to pick up, that met our needs. I have talked to about six CC owners to date, and I feel comfortable with the quality of their product and service based on those reviews. At this point I'm just excited to get my trailer and start camping! I envy your work situation, thats a luxury for sure! All the best to you, Ernie

What part of your decision are you second guessing? Going with the Cozy Cruiser, buying over building or the teardrop in general?
I bought mine and have never regretted that, though I didn't have to wait for mine. I am not that patient which is also the main reason I chose not to build. Love the ease of everything with a teardrop from towing to set up to teardown to storing. As for the Cozy, read good things. Hope an owner or two speak up on them.

Racquetman- I guess I'm in line behind you, so I really hope you get yours on time. Your post made me feel good about my choice. You actually saw some teardrops up close and talked with some owners ---- I didn't do either.
I thought alot about the CampInn but decided it was just a little too expensive. I really didn't need to deal with fresh and grey water tanks. I've got decades of tent camping in my background so carrying water and plastic tubs seemed like a good trade off for space and reduced cost

PKCSPT- It's a lot of money and I didn't visit the shop where they are made nor did I talk to any Cozy owners - so I was just a bit worried.

Welcome to a fellow Californian. Looks like you made a good choice. Check out the Jefferson State and the Southwest forums for information about what's happening in your area. Drop by and check out other teardrops and tiny travel trailers. I got many ideas from visiting them when I built mine. Hope to see you at a future gathering.

Hey Dack, its easy to see how you can second guess yourself, especially if you continue to look on line and see some of the fantastic trailers these guys build. I'm like you in that I don't have the time, space, tools, and talent to build something I would want to use. I really admire all the talent there is out there. The Campinn is a beautiful trailer, the one I saw had every option you can get, it was a work of art for a factory built TD, but the price tag was pushing 28,000, I just could'nt justify it, at least not for me. The people I've talked to about the CC have been very pleased with product and service, but I already told you that. I'm sure when we get our trailer, we will find some small things we will want to change, to make it our own. One lady I spoke to did not like the screen door, another person did'nt like the fact that there are to many different keys, another person did'nt like the head board shelfs ( the two bottom ones ) because when he sits up its hard to lean against them, solution......he bought a big pillow to lean against. Someone else did'nt like the mattress, his wife did, but he did'nt, so you make little adjustments, and make it work for you. Anyway, it will work out in the end, I'm comfident! Ernie

Ah, I understand that. Well even though I went with Little Guy I hope you will enjoy your tear as much as I enjoy mine and then it is money well spent. I can't wait to see pictures of your when it is complete and home.
