Quick question about this cooktop.

Image

Looks like there is an internal regulator. Not knowing much about regulators and how LP systems work, does this mean I just hook it up to the tank directly without a tank side regulator?

RWH, Howdy;

Sound like a question for either the manufacturer or your local propane specialist.

Need a close up of the tag. It appears to say 11 wc ? If so it will need a regulator at the tank.
The manual should tell you also.

Everything I can think of that is made to be fitted into an RV uses propane that is delivered from the tank, via a regulator, at a pressure of 11" WC. Ranges often, maybe always (?), have a small regulator built in. I believe that cooktop will follow that pattern.That regulator "fine tunes" the feed from the usual regulator that delivers 11 " WC pressure. Campstoves and lanterns are another matter.

You guys gotta sharpen UP :lol: :lol: :lol:

BY LAW all RV or RVIA certified stoves are regulated to max 5,000 Btu .......
That's what the little regulator is for ....
.

OTTCT uses a real BBQ ..... 45,000 Btu :shock: :D :) :applause:

Thanks all. When I was at the camper retailer buying some of the gas lines, I told him what I was trying to accomplish. This being, run my stove and Heater Buddy off the same feed. The heater uses a direct unregulated feed but the stove, I thought, needed a regulated feed. He mentioned you can't run a feed with two regulators on the same feed. When I saw the stove's regulator, that made me question the need for a tank side regulator. :?

Update to the stove regulator issue. I tried hooking up the stove with a regulator and without just to see what would happen. Turns out, the tank side regulator is required to make the stove work. The regulator in the stove has an over pressure switch and will not let gas through if the pressure is too high. Problem solved. Thanks for all the help guys. :thumbsup:

Cutting down my to do list finally. Got to lift away bed installed and the back splash done. The propane tanks and system done also. To bad all that work being done, the ct still looks the same from when I started.

Well, I have been working away on the trailer and cutting down my to-do list while weather permits.
Finally starting to look like a camper which is getting me anxious to start camping. I still have to do the final plumbing and electrical.
I believe I will start the electrical next so I bought an Optima Marine battery with a 155 min RC today.

Very nice work. Any chance you could show some details on how your lift away bed is set up? Thanks a bunch.

+1 on all three comments. Your CTC looks better than my house! And the lift away bed is very intriguing.

Take care,

Here is what I did to fashion my lift away bed.
Image

Image

I used SuperStrut as guide railing with 3/8 carriage bolts and square washers to use as slides. At the top I used garage door pullies (with bearings) and 1/4 cable. The cable is attached to the carriage bolts. To relieve the weight I used (2) 110lbs garage door springs.

The spring is attached to a 8" 2300lbs eye bolt fastened through the lower frame.

I hope that explains it well enough. Please ask if you need more details. :)

RWH, Howdy;

WOW!!! Outstanding build...

How do you keep the bed in the down position without
pinning the DW up against the ceiling???? OOOPS, ... sorry honey (he-he-he-he-he).
