Not sure if I missed something in the thread. Im trying to figure out the details of the weekend. It sounds like there is pot lucks for breakfast and dinner on Saturday? Is there a sign up for what to bring and what are the times? There also is a horseshoe tournament on Saturday? There will be no formal tour of tears. It will just happen at respectable times throughout the weekend?

Sounds like you have it figures out.

Yes, We generally bring something to share on Saturday Morning and Evening where we eat together. There is a food thread here where if you think something is missing you can bring it and make that meal perfect.

Horse shoe tournament will start as early as the first two people get there. You participate only if you have an interest. Finals Saturday before supper.

Tours, the weekend is too packed to schedule. See someone by their tear---ask if you can see it. Never been refused yet. We are an easy group to get along with.

Friday night we also like to get together and greet each other. Opportunity to get to know your neighbors.

Hopefully we will have our shelter available so we will be very warm an cozy. If you stop and buy a bundle of firewood you will help us fuel the big fireplace and as Dennis indicated help the friends of the park.

Shelter cost a $100 dollars for Saturday and we share the cost.

Stop by my camp and pick up you name tag so people know who you are.

Hope we don't have to bring snow shovels! This morning we woke up to this (central Wisconsin):

Shovels are optional. Some of us prefer the natural white snow covered look instead of the organize cleaned up appearance of a shoveled camp site. :snow

-We are now within the 10 days that weather bug predicts weather for Sheboygan. The current prediction is for a 70 % chance of rain :rainy: on Thursday and Friday. Our shared cost for the shelter on Saturday should be less than $5 per trailer if all 24 show up. If on Monday the weather is still predicted to be miserable rain I was wondering what people thought of the idea of renting the shelter all day Friday also? If we were able to also get the key the night before we would have the shelter, and it's warmth :campfire: , for the whole event.

Post your opinion here please. Temperature is predicted to be a high of 58 on Thursday and on Friday a high of 56. Lows for both days are in the 40s.

Bob and I are considering arriving on Thursday, even though we've only reserved our site for Friday and Saturday. Figured the chances of our site being taken on Thursday is quite low, and if by chance it is,----we'll just stay the night at another one, then move. As for the extra shelter day----we'll go with whatever everyone votes for, and pay our share. Don't think we'll both get to use it at the same time though, I'm of the understanding that we won't be able to bring our two Border Collies inside. I looked at the park map and was wondering----which shelter will we be using? Looks like both of them have parking areas nearby. We could tire the dogs out with a long hike or two, then let them sleep in the truck (in the nearby lot) while we both partake in the shelter activities.

Will the showers and laundry room water be turned on that weekend? Or will it be "rustic" pit toilets and hand pump/carry your own water? Whether it is or isn't won't deter us though, and as for the rain-------------I'd rather be sitting under a canopy playing Scrabble or card games, (while it's pouring rain), than surrounded by the lights, noise and the mass of humanity in my "big box" retail workplace. Ma Nature, bring it on!

The dogs should be fine. Tom's dog, Henry (a bassett) often comes to the events but stays outside. There are picnic tables on the lake side of the shelter (outside) that you could tie your dogs to and keep an eye on them during the events.

The electricity will be on and we'll have hot water in the shower house, which is right across the road from the shelter we use. There is a room attached to the shelter for laundry which has a scrub sink that will have hot water.

I'll play you a game of Scrabble! Watch out for my husband, Mark, though. He has an annoying habit of using all his letters.

The hot water will be on in the restrooms, right?

backroads,

You are correct that you are not supposed to bring dogs into the shelter.

The shelter we use is right in the middle of all the camper sites, directly across from the bathrooms. Nobody is more than a 100 feet from the shelter which is why we enjoy this park so much at this time of year. I feel comfortable with our dog being close by when we are at the shelter.

Oh, I get it now. After checking on the web, I see where there is an enclosed shelter (the one we're using), versus the open one. As for the laundry room---besides the scrub sink, does it have a coin operated washer/dryer(s)?
