Vintage Trailer Honey Hole In South Prairie, WA

Postby halfdome, Danny » Sun Apr 13, 2014 8:15 pm

Since the weather has been nice, Jane & I have been riding our bikes along the Rails To Trails, Foothills Trail, between Orting and South Prairie Washington.
While taking a rest in South Prairie I noticed this new building and his outdoor inventory.

It got my interest up and rode over to the front of the building.

It looks like he has either a large work schedule or several vintage trailers in stock.
From what little I could find, it opened in March and use to be in Bonney Lake WA.
It looks like he's been to a couple gathering that we have been to.

I took these pictures last Monday and it looked like they weren't open.
Interesting inventory at the least, great 15 mile round trip bike ride.

It's always fun to find a place like that. That Airfloat has a slimp wheel on it! The real problem is, with all these car flip shows and the upcoming vintage RV flip show, lots of the really nice old barn/field finds are going to be drying up. Now is the time to find an old one. There aren't nearly as many old trailers around as there are old cars. There are more and more new businesses starting up restoring trailers and they are going to have pickers out scouring the landscape. An e-mail went out from Tin Can Tourists letting people know that the new upcoming TV show is searching for trailers to have done. Doug

We brought our '73 Bell in to have it checked out, a Fantastic Fan installed, and the drip rails straightened, resealed, and reattached. They did a great job, and were very reasonably priced.

(My rule is 12v wiring and interior finish I'll do, anything involving 110v, water, gas, or structure, I want an expert to do right now).
