Hello from Tennessee!

Thank You for activating my account here.
I have been wanting a TearDrop Camper for some time now, and I have finally decided on going ahead and building one.
Recently I built a small 40"x 48" camping trailer that came out really good and performed well on its maiden camping trip to
the Wanee festival in Live Oak Florida, but now I want to add a TD to my collection.
I researched many designs and styles and even came up with a few of my own, but since this will be my first TD I decided it would probably be
best if I purchase plans and templates. I decided on a style and manufacturer and the templates etc, should be here on Monday.
I plan on building on a HF 48" x 96" trailer.
I will take pictures during the build, and share them here with you all.

Excellent! Keep us informed on the process and ask all the question you have. I am sure someone here can answer them or point you to an older thread that will have the answers you need.

Also, check out tearjerkers.net for the Tennessee chapter. :D

Thank you for the warm welcomes.

I am really excited about this build and I enjoy posting a work in process just as much as reading others builds, so I
will post pics and keep you all posted.
This will be my 1st TD, so it wont be anything real fancy. Just somewhat basic. BUT, I do plan on building a second and possibly a third TD
that will more than likely get more fancier as I learn from them.
Well, I received my templates and I also bought the 4x8 today and worked all day getting it put together.

Since my queen size mattress is 60", I decided to go with a 5 foot wide TD to accommodate it. I will add 6" to each side and add cut out wheel wells and trim the curve.

..btw, my brother was so interested in my desire to build a teardrop, that he also bought a trailer and we are going to be building them together.
