Inherited Travel Trailer

I have just inherited a small Silver Shadow Yoder Toter from my mother in law who passed away a few months ago. My husband and I have 2 small children and can't really decide to keep it or sell it. We don't really camp that often but it just so cute I hate to get rid of it. I don't believe my mother-in-law had the chance to use it. I thought it might be interesting to roam around on your site and see why so many people love these little trailer.

I think if you have a little tent beside the trailer you can all camp together. I have used mine twice. I just wish I would have had it when my kids were young. It would have been great for a night or weekend get away for me and my husband. I am sure you could use it for a night away from home.

I bought one because my car could tow it.
I love it for so many reasons, I can get it into places a larger camper can't go. Simplicity, drop the front wheel put out a chair camp is set. Maybe put up the side tent and plug in the extension cord when I need or want more room (like a grandchild decides to join me). Easy to tow, can move it around the yard by pushing it. Storing, it doesn't take much room, kinda cute. Lots of fun.

Welcome! A Lot of people will attach an SUV Tent to the side and leave that side door open for the kids. The picture above shows one attached to the side of the Little Guy. Also I would recommend finding a local gathering near you and going at least once. You will be hooked.

I tow mine with a Jetta Sportwagon which when the back seats are fold flat makes a 6 foot long bed when you put a foam pad in it. Other tow vehicles can provide a similar bed of various sizes. I grew up with parents who had a station wagon where mom and dad slept in the back while I slept on the front seat and my brother slept in the foot well. The right combination of tow vehicle with trailer can be comfortable for a family. As the kids get bigger a small tent will seem like an incredible adventure.

I would surly give it a try if you have your doubts before selling, kids in their own tent and you and the other in a nice comp-fie bed! If you like camping you'll love your new little tear.

Condolences upon the loss of your MIL.....she had good taste in selecting her trailer.
** As others above have said, try it out. Even if you don't camp in it often, it makes a great extra guest room, rainy day play spot for your kids, and a quick, quiet getaway when needed. Look at the cost of your registration, usually minimal, and if you have the room/space/place to easily store it, as factors to consider in your decision. With this trailer, you might just want to camp more often than you used to.

I wouldn't even know what to sell it for. I tried to google the trailer but didn't really find any information.

Is the trailer a 5 foot wide by 8 foot long or 10 foot long?

When purchased new it probably sold for $7.000 to $9,000. If you have pictures that would help a lot.
