Yard Camping ie "Yamping"

Can be a fun thing I have done it several times in my own backyard. It is even nicer when you get your hosts permission ( before hand) to camp out at the party place. We visited the kids and took our bed ( the teardrop) and simply plugged into the garage and slept it off after some rather heavy duty partying. I have taken it to numerious friends parties and even a little primative campgrounds just 4 mile from the house. So yes YARD CAMPING can be fun too.

We used to back in 6th through 8th grade. It was before we could drive. We had good times too! We lived in a tiny rural community. One of my friends had a few acres of land with a stock tank. It was far enough from the house that we could holler and play, but close enough that the parents could keep an eye out for us. There were 3 of us and we did most of our camping together from 6 grade until we were in our late 20's. One of my friends quit going with us after high school and he has passed away now. Me and my best friend haven't camped in awhile, but still communicate with phone/text. Life has a way of keeping us busy. Great memories though

Only "yamped" once when the children were tiny and wanted to sleep out back.
I did pitch a tent in living room in front of the fireplace for week. The children loved it. Winter ice storm knocked down the power for a week.
We camped away from home, whatever the weather. The first trip I took the wife and children on rained, and the next four times. The weather never stopped us from going away. It never bothered them until older and friends told them it was wrong.

Didn't someone post a yamping experience recently? They were pulling the teardrop with a riding lawnmower or similar.
yes, yamping would be pure magic for children and for grownups who have cabin fever.

Yamping is how I got my Shih Tzu, Sunny Day, used to sleeping in the both teardrops I have owned. Now she's fine. She just patiently waits for my return if I'm gone (shower, etc.).

My experience with "yamping" has been brief but some of the best times I've had with the teardrop. As was mentioned earlier in the posts, it's a great way of having a place to lay your head at night if you've had one too many and don't need to be on the highway driving home. Worst part is you're a bit further from the "facilities"........

My kids and I do this in our tent on nights when there is supposed to be a good meteor shower. I set the tent up on the back patio, leave the rain fly off so we can look right up through the netting, and set an alarm for after midnight! We do it a couple of times a year (even in March or April!).

Haven't done it with a trailer, yet. My yard is a hill, my parking pad is sloped, and my street is uneven. Doesn't sound comfortable.

Camped in the back yard with my two boy's this weekend. Had a fire with my scraps of wood. Roasted some huge marshmallows and slept in my 9 year olds tent. Had a blast!!!

we've done it a few times in tents, never in the tear, the first time we did it the tear didn't exist, the last time it was closed for renovations.

Gonna be Yamping in Galena Ill. next month in Woodbutchers Yard. There was a
limit of 15 trailers, and it filled up within 2-3 weeks of being posted. We are
gonna do a Pig Roast for the Saturday evening meal.

I plan to go yamping as soon as I've got my trailer restored enough (having a floor again would be the minimum requirement ). It'll be a nice pseudo-getaway and a good opportunity to test things out with no real pressure.

My Parents will be going on a trip in June and My Fiancé and I will be staying at their house watching my little brother and the house. I'm sure we will have the Tear out in the yard for a night or two then. It's been in the mid 70's and 80's this week and i've been having the itch to go camping. I just want to park the tear, put the boat in the water, and do a little fishing.
