Great idea! But my dog would want the larger part of the bag. As it is now she takes the bulk of the bed in the teardrop.

Interesting idea.....
I would think that using a sleeping bag for a dog might require some special training for the dog.
I've never met a dog who would sleep in a sleeping bag or even keep a blanket or towel over top of them.
Dogs do like to curl up with a blanket curled around them; but, that's about it.
That said, dogs do make great "heaters" inside our teardrops and tiny trailers.

Sharon, my dog Marley sleeps under the blanket when ever the temps dip under 60. Really, she is a wimp!

Now Thor he wouldn't care if you hog tied him in a blanket, if he was warm he would be happy.

Lance would take the larger bag too. As it is when he sleeps in the tear he tries to take the top half of the bed.When I put up the side tent and his bed out there he still climbs in the tear.
Great idea though.

Sunny Day spent most of last night under the sleeping bag. She's cold if it's under 60*, too.

That is genius! I was backpacking with my beagle and the one night the temps dropped MUCH lower than forecasted. We SQUEEZED into my mummy bag somehow and survived, but this would have been perfect!

Dog compatibility with it, probably depends on each dog.

Our Boston Terrier has very short fur/hair. She has to have
her 'snuggy blanket' to curl up in and under each night. This
past winter we started putting a dog coat on her as she'd sit
and shiver when she was cold. The coat looks like the capes
that the three musketeers, and friends, wore in the movies!
She now fusses at us to put it on her when she is evidently
feeling cold! Who knew we'd create a "D'Ogtagnan".
