I took a nap in my tear yesterday. It was 85 when I laid down. I dropped the door Windows down, turned the Fantastic to blow inside (mines reversable) and within minutes I was deep asleep and comfortable..

Slow, I bought a 5000rbt with manual open/close, thermostat, 3spd., reverse from rvvent.com. Their prices are about the best. They also will customize one for you at no extra charge. The custom options are shown in the shopping cart. Typically they call to verify the options before the order is shipped.

 They are very helpful and knowledgeable. If you are unsure what to order ask them for advice. Their phone number 1-440-937-5694

Mine is "fantastic". My only advice is to check out your framing ahead of time. Leave room for wiring and check to see where the screw holes will hit. If you are using 1" nominal framing (3/4") you may have to add some "scabs" to catch the screw holes on all four sides.

I originally bought a cheaper vent fan on sale at eTrailer.com, like this one:

It was ok as a vent but the fan was noisy and never moved any air since it only covered about a quarter of the total opening.

After two seasons ripped it out and replaced it with a Fantastic Fan model 5000RBT. What a difference! Quieter, moves the air better, more adjustable, better engineered and just built better.

The model I have is reversible, 3 speeds, and has a thermostat. Even at low speeds for a compact teardrop it was so efficient that I felt like I was in a wind tunnel. With exhausting the air the window curtains would raise up. I replaced the 3 speed switch with an adjustable rheostat that allows infinitely adjusting the speed from very slow up to warp speed. Priceless...

I should have just bought the Fantastic Fan in the first place and I would have saved much time and money.

I'm sold on them...

Believe the hype. I think I got mine for less than $85 new on fleabay. At full tilt it will make a nice breeze through the windows and it's still quiet enough to sleep.

also check out Frank Bear at teardroptrailerparts.com (formerly vintek). He also has great prices and great service. He ships really fast also. I bought all my major parts from him (doors, fan, converter, trim, lights, etc.)

Our first tear because it had only one door had an escape hatch which precluded a fan FF or otherwise, so I improvised and adapted two Antec three speed computer case fans.

they worked very well.

If you look for posts you will find any number with ideas on how to slow down a FF (best method PWM). Knowing that I had the fan left out of CR and adapted the ones from MM #1

Our experience has been that we almost never run them on high and they use MUCH less current.

Is the Model 8000R with 3 SPEEDS FORWARD AND REVERSE CREATE-A-BREEZE FAN (WHITE) a reasonable good vent fan for a teardrop?
