6x12 Ezhauler conversion

DH and I just bought a nearly new 6x12 EZHauler aluminum cargo trailer. Our goal is to have this cargo converted into a stealth camper complete with drings in the floor to haul our motorcycle (2007 Honda Rebel weighing 250lbs ) when the mood strikes.

First trip planned: RoAN Mountain, TN in July.

Any help appreciated.

Pretty trailer. I'm looking forward to seeing your build. There is a ton of information on this forum. I spent quite awhile just reading up on the other conversions. Glad I did, as there's lots of good ideas and wisdom that I benefited from.

Where is everyone buying their windows from?
We live in Central Florida and own a black 6x12 Haulmark. We plan on two slider windows and are debating between two roof vents vs air conditioner. We don't feel we need the ac but there are times when we will be traveling with our two fur babies.

Nice trailer, very stealthy indeed.

Look into the Fantastic Fan roof vents, they are powerful enough to make a nice breeze through your windows. Air conditioning is nice, but there's nothing stealthy about a generator humming away.

I got some great deals on my Fantastic Fan and windows on eBay.

Would the doggies be okay in an insulated black trailer equipped with roof vent and two windows?

Mmmm..Might have to defer to someone more familiar with your climate. I've never been in any heat I couldn't handle with a fan, some shade and a cold frosty beer. And I always try to camp near water!

The insulation and maybe some reflective roof coating will make a huge difference. Two Fantastic Fans will make it breezy in there, but won't do anything for the humidity!

*BTW, I'm also anti-generator, so take that for what it's worth!

First (of many) trips to Lowe's made today. Tomorrow we will be making two custom benches that will pull out to make a 6ft full+ bed. The inspiration was found online.

Picked up a gallon of roof sealant said to reflect 88% but I am worried we will need another gallon. The directions instruct to apply two coats which will cover up to 35 square feet. With the trailer being 6X12 I am thinking we will not have enough. Anyone use this before and can advise?

After driving around for two days we finally found a Junk Yard with RV parts. They're typically open on Saturdays but with it being Memorial Weekend, they closed up shop meaning we won't get back out there until THURSDAY. Chit chit chit! Waiting for windows before we insulate. What did everyone use?

I'm thinking there should be a '0' behind the 35 for the sq.ft. amount. Generally a gallon covers about 350 sq.ft. so, you should have enough
for 2 or maybe even 3 coats ...

I am a big fan of E-Bay. I found almost all my windows, door handles, solar panel, chargers, etc. there at prices that would be hard to beat. I got the window for my door for around $15.00 on an auction bid.

Good luck.. The other place to look for things is Craigslist. That is little harder, but you will find things there as well.

So my advisor told me NOT to apply anything to the roof until needed. He said the silver roof should reflect a lot already and suggested that we insulate the roof with pink/blue foam insulation found @ 84 Lumber. Anyone seen this stuff cheaper elsewhere (Lowes/HomeDepot)

I took a few photos today of our progress. The plan was to have two 3foot sections on each side of the trailer. Once pulled out, we'd have a 69in wide bed that's 6 foot in length. Each 3 foot section lifts up for storage underneath. We hit a snag in the plan but will revisit soon enough.

I've been looking on ebay (and craigslist) but I am not finding the best of prices (on ebay after shipping is added). We'll visit the junkyard on Thursday after work, I just worry about how we are going to remove the windows. I'd love to add solar, but what can one actually run off solar?

Thanks for the links, someone has been spending a lot of time in IKEA ...
There are quite a few good ideas to be had there.
As for window removal, generally a #2 square tip for your screwdriver and a
putty knife should be all you may need.
