I only want to remove the roof so I can fit the TTT in the garage.

scrap_maker wrote:@S. Heisley: Thanks for the additional 2 cents :) Maybe one day, I can pay that forward. I was thinking about using the inside docking lip as a guide for sliding the roof on/off (ie. prevents me from pulling the roof off track) and use bolts with plastic knob handles to make it easier to install/remove. Now that you've mentioned the tee nuts working itself loose, let me stew on the latch idea for a bit. Can you give me a link to an example latch that you have in mind? Something like this? http://www.lowes.com/pd_424846-45395-ST ... facetInfo=

The type of latch that you select depends on where and how you use it, as well as personal taste. There is an infinite variety and you can get them with or without locks. What you want is something that helps draw the roof down tight and holds on well. Google "Draw latches" and you'll see all kinds. Good luck, Scrap-maker.

Not wanting to pour cold water on what is a very creative approach, but.....

What happens if you get home from a trip, you need to remove the roof on the driveway so you can wheel your tear into the garage, and it's pouring with rain..... Your open cabin is going to get (temporarily) soaked.... :x :rainy: :rainy: :rainy:

@mallymal: I can leave the TTT in the driveway until the rain subsides, I just can't leave it long term.

@bc toys: It's going to be a standy with an open interior that can be reconfigured.
