Well my small utility trailer has died the wood is just rotten. SO making a new one using some techniques that are applied to a teardrop. doing a 15 inch nose radius and an 24x48 ellipse for the rear. 24 inches tall and 96 inches long width is 52, should be fun. using 3/8 inch plywood from big box however the roof will be 1/8th baltic birch since it comes in 5x5 sheets. Spars are just cheap whiteboard spars also using those as cleats. using titebond III for gluing the spars in place and the cleats. used a circle jig for my router to cut the front radius and free handed the rear ellipse. been thinking about a router jig for an ellispe,im sure it can be done.

A good days work. i did get it on the trailer however i did not account for a slight inward angle on the front upright post so cut them both off. note to self next time make smaller by 1/4 inch. I didnt bolt it down yet, figured the trailer will make a great place to anchor the straps when i add the front roof panel.

Well i got the front end wrapped with 5x5 Baltic birch and very sloppy started the rear hatch. its an ellipse and i did a very poor job in free-handing the shape. will be fun once its done. one thing i did to ensure that i had a small gap between the hatch and the side body was I took the large Popsicle sticks that i had bought to mix epoxy and took two of those and used them as spacers where I would have them clamped away from where the spar went yet still give me spacing. i thought it cool

Installed a hurricane hinge from Frank Bear. love how great it has come together. Painted it red with black fenders. did some modification to the tongue jack to help steer straight. i have found that the 3mm baltic birch is very fragile with nothing behind it so need to figure something out maybe more spars. i also need to figure a side trim for the hatch so any advice would be welcome.
