I imagine the majority of people on the board have built a traditional teardrop trailer. A drop floor in one of those totally makes sense. It gives much needed storage. But what about the drop floor used in a standie? Is it a trip hazard? Do you stub your toe on it? Is it really worth the lower roof height? Can someone speak from experience?
My grandfather dug a pit in his garage to work on cars and you wouldn't believe the number of people that fell in that thing. Even when they knew it was there, they would somehow end up falling into it. It was like some sort of Monty Python skit. The neighbor would got out to get the paper and end up in the bottom of the pit in my grandfather's garage. I'm having visions of that while planning out a standie.
