Things that don't fit anywhere else...

scleroderma and eosonophillic fasciitis.

Postby PKCSPT » Mon May 26, 2014 7:03 pm

Anyone have any personal experience with scleroderma and/or eosonophillic fasciitis.
My son who has been in the army for the last 3 years has finally been diagnosed with both of these.
I have done much reading and they haven't started treatment yet other than putting him on prednisone.

I was wondering about personal experiences with the disease and treatments.

Scleroderma is uncommon in males. My Mother-In-Law had it had it is a terrible disease. She did hyberbaric treatments until insurance said they'd no longer pay for it. It was more so that the sores she'd get would heal faster.

The doctor said it was uncommon for men to get it. He said it was only the second time in 25 years he had seen it. They get home today and hopefully he will get himself into the VA to start treatment right away. We will see how that goes. His wife's grandpa has done a lot of work with vets getting treatment and he is going to help them.
