That 3/4" stuff really sneaks up on you, and adds up to lotsa weight. And then there's all the peripheral trim, screws, and minor alterations made with odds and ends that never figure in to the "master plan". My 1000lb planned trailer topped 1400 when rolled out of the garage, and still grows...now 1760lbs camping (travel) weight (my retrofits and upgrades are all heavy...). I would not trust a shipping weight too far by itself. For bulky items those can be a shoot from the hip guesstimate made by a shipping clerk, rather than an actual scale weight. Best to weigh it and find out for sure.
