Haven't got our letter yet, but we're planning on arriving mid-day Wednesday. Also looking forward re-connecting with all our friends from last year's Dam Gathering and meeting new folks...

See you all there! No electrical hookup at IRG, so I'm balancing out my solar and trying to figure out how to keep food cold for 4 days. I think eventually I'm going to need to make trips for ice. I'm arriving Weds afternoon and then heading back to Washington state on Sunday. Great to celebrate the holiday with old and new friends.

This will be my TD's first trip to California!

Don't sweat the ice issue. There is a great little local grocery store/ gas station not far from Pamplin Grove. They will have just about anything you are going to need. Doug

We have done the "secret family recipe" in a DO....but hope to do our demo in a Cast Iron Frying Pan the way my Dad used to make it!
Oh, and Yes we just started DO cooking last year, but are trying to catch up fast! We now have 4 DO's and other Cast Iron. And we have not cooked for TD'ers since Saturday!
Cooked up a couple of Chickens c\w all the fixings in the 14".

I have never cooked using a dutch oven before. I'm looking forward to learning more and trying it out. From what I can tell it looks like a tradition in the TD community so I better get with the program!!

Will be heading out on Sun the 29th of June, should be there by Tues the 1st. If help is needed setting up when I get there, I am volunteering!! Will be traveling south via Hy 1 & 101 - Oregon/California Coast route. Still no cooking for me (too old to learn new tricks - but??? maybe??) but again the ice cream will be on me for a nite or two. (Looking on the maps of the area, it won't be as long of a drive this time for ice cream like it was from Lakehead to Shasta City. Hydesville is only about 5 to 8 miles away, not 20) We GOT to have ICE CREAM!!!!! T.Hoefer Camano Island, Wash. -"BC" Tear Jerker-

Oh boy, Oh boy. Leaving So Calif Sunday morning, will spend the night at my old flight instructor's horse ranch near Fresno, (as usual) then charge on north with the less-than-supersonic teardrop in tow. Leaving the sweet dogs home as it is difficult to explore, shop and eat out, with them cooped up in the car, which may be too hot for them. Bummer. My IRG packet arrived and upon my self-addressed-envelope, whas an additional stamp provided by the sender. What? Has anyone else noticed the same on theirs? If so, that must have cost a bundle in postage fees. Hoping to enjoy a wonderful prime rib DO dinner, at someone's campsite in the near future. See ya there.

postal rates went up a month or two ago, after we had all sent in our apps. Mine was covered being I used one from my stock pile of "forever" stamps I bought at $.41 each in 06 or 07. Today they are worth $.49 each! almost like buying mutual funds!! still have over 200+ or so left from the 400 I bought back than. Yes, I'm a stock piler - lets see over 100 or qts of motor oil, 30+ oil filters, new axles - rotors - brake shoes, just 4 tires left of the 12 I got on sale a year or two ago, etc, etc, etc........ take care and stay safe on your trip north!!! T.Hoefer PS Roly, did you get the gas struts mounted on the cockpit hatch yet??

Nope, gotta do some experimenting regarding size, length, lifting pressure and end connections. Wallmart doesn't sell them, and I want to return what ever I buy, in the event they aren't the right size or lifting requrirements. Oh how nice it is to work wih wood, and such a pain in the butt to try to figure out all of this metal construction and attachment points. Hey, I'm a carpenter, not an engineer.
