Greetings from Illinois

Postby Agreynolds » Thu Jun 26, 2014 11:43 pm

Hello,
My name is Asha and currently I am a college student. Im new to the teardrop community but I do wish to build one next summer. So I've been reading everything about it. My hopes is to finish it as a graduation gift for myself.

I am limited in my wood working skills but that doesn't discourage me. Therefore my first design will be something basic. It seems like the original 1950 teardrop design might be best for my skill level. I'm very much a visual person when it comes to learning so if you have videos of lost of pictures of your process. I'd be really appreciative.

Once I finish my teardrop I plan to go on a cross country road trip with my little brother or boyfriend. :) I'm so excited for this trip! I can't wait and I also look forward to getting to know you all through you blogs and posts

Thanks for your help in advance.

Asha

Welcome Asha. We have an active group in Illinois and we would be happy to show you the trailers we camp in at an up coming gathering. Check out the Midwest section on this board for dates. Also follow us on the www.tearjerker.net website in the Land of Lincoln section. You do NOT need a teardrop to join us. Many people have camped in a tent till they build or by a trailer, so don't feel you can't join us. You don't say where in Illinois you live, but Tear Jerkers have active groups in Indiana and Wisconsin also. All are very willing to help. Have fun with your build and make sure to post lots of pictures! We love to follow along.

Hi Steve,
I live in Joliet and go to school in Bourbonnais. I will definitely checkout the Midwest group and hopefully we'll run into each other. I'm no stranger to tent camping so I'll definitely pitch a tent.
Thanks so much

I will second those who encourage you to come to a TearJerkers gathering a very purposefully inclusive group. It helps a great deal to see aq tear on the ground rather than just pictures.
