STOLEN COZY CRUISER TEARDROP: WA State Burien/Des Moines

Postby deleted » Sat Jun 28, 2014 1:31 pm

Just taken. My friend posted on Facebook about her mom's teardrop trailer:

She actually saw them drive off with it. If you're in the Burien/ Des Moines area and see it being towed by an older black suv, call the cops. It's the only one around that area and very distinct. Its missing the bumper on it since that was stolen a couple weeks ago... My 73yr old mom is devestated and in tears

Asked her to post contact info to the local police there. Will add when available.

Pictures would be helpful, if they have any.

I hope she gets it back soon!

In the meantime, I have two items related to this.

One is a trailer tongue ball lock.

http://www.amazon.com/Trimax-UMAX50-Universal-Hardened-couplers/dp/B000F3RYGA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404003467&sr=8-1&keywords=Trailer+tongue+lock

The other is a bicycle lock that I thread through tire and frame.

http://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-Kryptoflex-Bicycle-Transit-FlexFrame/dp/B002CR9GBS/ref=sr_1_9?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1404003526&sr=1-9&keywords=bicycle+lock

Nothing is fool proof, but it makes a deterrent.

I was also thinking Iowa since Van Buren and Des Moines are near each other. I was about to call relatives and get them on a look out.

I thought it was Iowa too.

Still haven't received a phone number to the local PD. That would have clarified things. Updated the thread title.

I really hope they find it for her. Feel so bad for her.

We periodically go through the security issues and they boil down to, if you can get a bolt cutter on it it is toast! My solution a Gus Hill lock

Thanks for that suggestion Shadow Catcher. Just looked at their website. Something worth considering. Here's the link for those unfamiliar with the site: http://trailerlocksonline.com/shop/

What day was it stolen on? I think, I saw a teardrop like that going east, on highway 12 on Thursday. I didn't notice what was towing it. It was between Randle and Packwood.
