Just to demonstrate that "Ten Foot Rule" will really need to apply. Even one of the best looking seams still looks like this:

The flat seams really are the worst offenders.

I cannot see what you are whining about
Those seams are flat, straight, even in width, thickness and texture. And definitely strong. Not many "pro built" units could look that good. That is a sign of a good build, nothing else.
I wish my stuff came out that good.

Finished up paint, windows, lights, gutters, etc. Everything's sealed and installed. Now she can live outdoors!

Another weekend - another bit of work complete.
The fold-down table issue; solved. Purchased a plastic folding table from Lowes (24" X 48") - It fit perfectly!
I just had to place the ledger pieces a bit lower, because the table was 1-3/4" thick. It's good I hadn't started that part yet.
Sorry no picts, not very interesting to see.

I also finished wiring up a power source; a small battery from "Batteries+plus". It is an 18ah 12v Sealed Lead Acid type. Designed for use in emergency lighting systems. I figured that a battery in the Nest'r was definitely going to be used in fits and starts - just like emergency lighting. We'll see if it was a good choice and if 18 amp hours is enough to run the Fantastic Vent for three nights.

Here she is all lit up -- it will power the fan; 4 interior lights, one exterior light, AND the 10 running lights without a problem (for a short while anyway.)


I also had a friend at work CNC cut a plastic logo; so she'll be all official and stuff.

I just can't get over how well everything you have done is coming together in such a uniform look. The color scheme with the moon dish caps and polished drip caps; it all looks so good together with the profile.

You really pulled it off. Nice job!

As far as a 'uniform look' I think it's more luck than design, but I'll take partial credit. I mean I did agonize over stripe layout, but the color choice was original beige and golds with brick color for good measure, but then I traded the Hyundai for the Blue Ford, so a quick color-change choice was generic grays/silver. What a happy accident that the black window trim, silver rain guards (Thanks to Grant and Li'l Bear!), all kinda tied the colors together. Oh, and lastly, I really, really wanted the moons.

Now if could just get the fine folks at the TN Tag Agency to accept my Cert. Of Origin from 7 years ago, without a sales receipt, I would be happy. The process is going to be unnecessarily complicated; I can see it coming.

Well, it's official she's not a virgin anymore. The Nest'r that is.


Took her for a quick overnight at a local state park; 15 minutes from home.
So she's offically christened.

Of course it rained; it wouldn't be camping if it didn't!

The wife was absolutely pleased; she kept saying how much fun she had. We hadn't specifically camped together in probably over 5yrs! (So we were due.)

The interior needs to be tackled next; first thing needs to be proper bed/bench cushions.
Then finding the "place for everything and everything in its place".

Just one night out and we already have gotten several "what-zat's"
