Hello from central Indiana

Postby JBarton » Sat Jul 12, 2014 12:11 pm

Just want to say hi! My wife and I have been looking, scheming and dreaming of getting us a teardrop.
Thinking we may just build it ourselves. Hope to get lots of info and ideas here.

And your name is....
Also, if you want to view some campers in person fairly close to you, why not drive down to Starve Hollow State recreation area next weekend. I think we have 28-29 campers there, alot of homebuilts and teardrops. Come Saturday afternoon and be our guests at our pitch in dinner.

Welcome to the forum, Jerry & Lori. You are lucky to have found us, prior to your actual construction of the neatest camping unit ever invented. This webpage will give you every bit in info you need to build your teardrop trailer. However, be aware, your life will never be the same, since we are probabably the friendliest bunch of camping enthusiasts you will ever encounter. Do try to attend the TD gathering, as suggested, even for a few hours. Interested walk-ins are always greeted with open arms. Fear not, those teardroppers are really one of a kind, and belive me, it will change your idea of camping. Just imagine, cooking right there off of the back of your rig, sleeping in wonderful comfort off of the ground, and enjoying a group of friendly fellow campers around the nightime campfire and eventually telling lies about the various unbelieveable encounters experienced with similar TDers.

Future gatherings, once your build is complete, are yet to be experienced, all you have to do is check us out and make the plans to attend the fun events. Remember, we are a wealth of information, absolutely free and all you have to do is ask, ask, ask. There are no stupid questions, just inqirys, seeking info on custom home-builds and how and where to get info on methods and materials. I know, I was right where you are 14 years ago, and without the forum's info, my TD trailer frame, would be still rusting away behind the garage. Lastly, when you make your maiden trip, my driveway is always available, here in Sunny California. Good luck, and keep in touch, take pics, post them, we love pics. I hope I have spurred your enthusiasm, I know mine is! See you on the road.
:D 8) Roly, probably the oldest woody teardropper around, planning on my 100th birthday in my woody, in a few years. (?) Hey, we teardroppers are here to help each other, so take advantage of our knowledge and join us in our happy events.
