cooler AC

Postby bbriggs1961 » Sat Oct 23, 2010 1:34 pm

Anyone seen AC system that looks like some kind of fan that fits over a cooler filled with ice and then blows cool air? Sounds interesting but does it work?

I got one and it works fine. Uses a bag of ice in about 2-3 hours.

That kooleraire is something I've been looking for. I've been racking my brain about an AC solution for a teardrop we're ordering. Wanted something that didn't take up space when not being used, and there it is. What a great find this was. I could make my own but I like that built in adaptor and form factor where you can still use the cooler as a cooler when not using as an AC unit. Perfect.

Depends a lot on where you're camping. An AC unit dries air as well as cooling it. A swamp cooler does the opposite. If you're in a humid area, you end up cold and wet.

Works great in places with ambient humidity below 30%. Pretty worthless above 50%.
