Mark is the name and I'm just another newb

Hi y'all. I was told of this site by a buddy (hello Brad) and my wife and I are considering a pre-manufactured TD (prolly a Nest Egg for now) to set up and/or modify. We used to travel by motorcycle (mostly camping on a adventure tourer) but time and entropy have prevailed so she no longer rides...now the TD idea. Physical issues took us from the ground to hammock tent camping and that is the way I will still camp from the bike. The plan is to pay off the house this year and buy a TD next year so Judy can travel and camp in comfort.

Sounds like a great plan

Nice to read about your evolution of camping styles. Just proves: Where there's a will, there's a way :)

Thanks Stacie. I have been blessed with Judy who has backpacked, car camped, and moto camped with me for the past 41 years. We have been up grading our camping kit and style all that time and the TD idea is simply another stage in a busy outdoor life. You are so right about the will and way...not time to surrender to the rocker yet. ;)

Our buddy, Brad, tried to get us here to spark an interest in building a foam TD but entropy coupled with low DIY Fu and lack of facilities make that unreasonable. Sure are some beautiful designs here, we are very impressed! So while lurking and drooling we discovered the cottage industry builds for retail and that sparked the interest. This site and community is very similar to the hammock camper/backpacker community...much innovation and DIY skill. The hammock crew also has an active cottage industry. The TD concept is also shares much with the moto and adventure touring side of our equation (minimalist yet comfortable).
