New from Austin TX

Postby GeckoJeep » Wed Jul 23, 2014 11:06 am

I've been reading up on this site for a few months, finally decided I should register and quit lurking.

I bought the Big Woody plans about a year ago, bought the HF trailer kit in January, and started work on the teardrop about a month ago. 2 weeks ago I decided I want to have it ready to go for our annual mtn biking / Jeeping trip to Moab,UT and Durango, CO which happens at the end of Sept. So - I've shifted into high gear and I'm starting to make some decent progress.

Slight setback last night when I discovered that, based on orientation of the nice 3/4" birch plywood, I have cut 2 left sides  Going to pick up a new sheet tonight and try again.

I appreciate all the good info I'm finding on here. Hopefully once this is done I can make it to some get togethers and see some other tiny trailers in their natural settings.

Welcome. A lot of good info and help here if you have questions. You should start a build thread and post pictures. I know a lot of members like to watch build progress. It's also great to get ideas for anyone about to start building. Good luck on the build and I will be watching the build thread if you decide to start one.

Welcome, lots of info here. Congrats. ( I have a whole stack of "good" extra wood). I cam never remember if it's cut twice, measure once....or is it the other way around? Just figure you're helping the local economy!

I've cut it 3 times and it's STILL too short!

Welcome aboard! You're about to find the plans you have, goes for all TD builders, lack something you want. Use the Design Resources at the top of the page to find stuff.

I started with Kuffel Creek's plans, then decided I wanted different doors. Then galley slide outs, then...

It's all fun. Enjoy your building and camping.

Hello J.T. from Austin...

It just so happens my initials are J.T. and I too am in Austin. Just curious, are you in South Dallas or North San Antonio LOL. I currently reside on the south side of town (aka North San Antone!).
