Addicted to this website

Hello Everybody,

I'm Shawn and I think I'm addicted to this site. I've read 8 or 9 complete Build Journals and I'm afraid that this is just a gateway to me building a teardrop camper. I'm partial to larger teardrops and was thinking about a Campster 12 but have become enamored with Dan Lott's Hoplite Traveler and cant wait to see it finished.

One of my Amateur Radio Friends has a Tear and showed it off at a 24 hour event we had in January. I just decided it was to small for me, I'm a big guy. But since then I found there are bigger flavors of teardrops. I'm looking forward to learning a lot.

Spacious. More room than I can use all at once. I had bedrooms smaller than that when I was a kid. Actually the point is that it needs to be small enough that you don't have to get a special tow vehicle yet large enough to have room to stretch out. The inside is designed to sleep in, you do your living in the great out doors. 8) :D

They are small compared to a class A or a house...but at 6' 3" I find mine to be every bit as comfortable as my regular bed. I just spend 2 weeks living in mine, and if it weren't for monsoon and cold I could live in mine. I sleep very well, and actually lost weight...mostly because there is no sofa and TV.

For what it's worth, we started with a Scotty....I'm now in a tear....just much better use of space and weight.

I am shrinking back from 340 LB and find my 5 x10 teardrop quite palatial. Even though the last 20+ inches is dedicated to the flip out galley there is room enough for a pillow top queen mattress. Loaded for a week long camping excursion it holds everything well. I simply cover the bed with a tarp and start stacking. I have no need for anything larger and with a side tent I can even stand up to put on my britches.

I did, and my wife climbed in the other side. She is an average size gal and she also felt it was a little to small. I'm not looking for something palatial, just comfortable, plus we have to have room for our Blab (Boxer Lab mix) :)

I got you beat by just a few pound, but enough about that. I really like the sky lights you have. The wife is a little claustrophobic and that would help.

Thanks to all for the Welcome.
