Brands and types of fan-less vents

Postby eggsalad » Tue Aug 05, 2014 1:51 am

Okay, the time has come to lay down cash money tor a 14" roof vent. I neither want nor need a fan.

Because I live in Las Vegas and my camper is stored outdoors, I am concerned about the longevity of any plastic-domed vent. Am I worrying too much? There are vents with steel lids, but nowhere can I find a clear answer if they are galvanized or just plain steel. I really don't want to worry about having to paint (or otherwise finish) a raw steel vent lid.

As for brands - there appear to be 3 major names - Heng's, Ventline, and Fantastic (they make a fanless model). Are there any reasons to choose one brand over another?

Thanks, as always, for your information.

Hey Bud, I got mine from Lil-bear (Grant Whip) and it works great. Nothing fancy, a roof vent. I believe the lid is Al?
Enjoy, Chris

There are a lot of places to cut corners. The vent/fan is not one of them in my opinion. Get a Fantastic Fan and sleep well. Nothing worse then stewing in your own juices on a hot night in a small box. :)
