How long are your leaf springs? They seem short by looking at the picture. Also, what type of hitch are you going to use. I recommend the MaxiHitch. It is very flexable and will not bind when backing up a steep hill. I second the suggestion for trailer brakes. I set mine up to use as a drag brake on some of the very steep, down hills. Having an off road trailer is great. I have never been sorry for the expense. We went with an AT Horizon since I could not find a TD with a long enough bed for me to fit comfortably. Most are 78" and I need a longer length. We do have a SoCal Deluxe for road trips though.

mkitchen,

I had a real trailer shop weld the base of the trailer and we took one leaf spring out of the stock 3,500lb set up. Once I starting using it I may switch them again. The trailer shop also talked me out of shocks, so I guess I will wait and see on that one as well. Yes I have electric brakes. I also purchased a max coupler from So Cal Teardrops.
