two words for the lower portion of that bracket...black paint...I know it is galvanized but use some galvanized primer and paint...it'll flake inna couple of years but...so...just paint again...

It will still have the bracket on there sticking out but I,ll take and change the bolt head towards the inside ... it will help some and then I wont have to have the floor stick out so much.. Maybe 1/2 inch instead...But then the nut will be there just the same... 2 inches will be tight for the tires... Maybe :QM

Okay the shackle plate as Kurt called it is 3/8 of an inch thick.

2 inches wide and 4 inches in length. From the bracket top to center of the bolt hole is aprox. 2 3/4 inches.. and the trailer frame thickness is 1 and 3/4...

Whew learnin this inch tape measure is a challenge.

Ok I know the fenders wont sit that low but I thought Id throw it in there just for a (Look See) :hammer:

Classic Finn ;)

Heikki, If you make the side come down to the bottom of the fender position, the "low" look would be pretty cool.. It almost looks as if the fenders will cover the spring shakles. I had a similar problem with mine. I wanted a "lowered" look so I added the lower skirt to complete the shape and get a lowered look.

Image My frame line is at the top of the trim piece is on the side,

Keep us updated.

Kurt that can be an idea as well... It does look nice... Low effect...
I,ll keep you all posted as I go...

Done with the Honey Do list for now so I guess I can work on the Voyager in peaceful terms..

Looks like we figured out how to to install the walls now regardless that the shackles are in the way.. :phew:

I only need to bring out the floor about a 1/4 inch on both sides now compared to earlier thoughts of 3/4 inch. As the sides will only go above the bolt on the shackles...right under the tear frame that is 1 3/4 inches thick. and that more than enough above the bolt head and washer.

I guess it takes pre- fitting... ok next obstacle

Hekki,

I have something of the same problem having had the spring hangers welded to the side rails of a Red Trailer. I'm thinking of simply putting a fascia board along the side rail to hide the hanger weld. I would, like you bring out the floor a bit past the frame then screw through the floor and the top of the fascia board. I would leave it open so that water could drain. This is all at the 'just thinking about it' stage. I haven't done serios measuring and it would require some modification of the fender mounts if I did it.

This might be bad idea # 362b and if it is it should die a quick death.

Thanks my friend, I appreciate that a lot. The main reason I used the skirt is I didn't want to buy aluminum wider than 4 foot, and I didn't want to lose the few inches of head room if I were to have lowered the walls to cover the frame.
I started out with nothing and I still got plenty left.

I was looking at that lowering bit too.. lose some head space.... indeed..
I was looking at the inches lost by this way too and this "Merican Tape Measure" says 4 inches total if I looked at it correctly..

Workin with 2 measurements at 1 time.. Inches and Centimeters -  :?
